James Otto
Days of Our Lives
James Otto recently released his debut album on Mercury Nashville Records. I have known about James Otto since the release of "The Ball." I had heard "The Ball," "Misspent Youth," and "Long Way Down" before I received a copy of his debut album. James Otto also did a great version of "Gone!" which is on Montgomery Gentry's new album. Please note: this is a different "Gone" than what is on his album. After hearing those songs, I absolutely loved his voice and thought he could definitely make a great addition into country music. I went into reviewing this album with "The Ball"
as my favorite song and came out of listening to the album with "Days Of Our Lives" as one of my favorite songs of all time.
Pick Hit: "Days Of Our Lives" As I stated above, this is one of my favorite songs on this album. This song basically says: We all need to spend what time we have with those who we love. Never take anything for granite because you never know when your time here is up. Embrace life. Live it to the fullest and live each day as though it is your last. This song was beautifully written and sung by an amazing performer. The chorus goes like this: "I guess that's why they say, dance every dance and live each day as though it's your last. And tell those who you love how you feel before it's too late. Life is right here and now, We only go around just one time. So, embrace 'em don't waste 'em, for these are the days of our lives." - Janelle Landauer
Album picks: "Long Way Down," "Misspent Youth," "Days of Our Lives," and "The Ball."
