Folk singer/songwriter Loudon Wainwright III returns with 'Strange Weirdos' - Music from & inspired by the film 'Knocked Up'
Concord Records to release soundtrack to Universal Pictures comedy 'Knocked Up' on May 22, 2007; film written/directed by Judd Apatow (40-Year-Old Virgin) and stars Katherine Heigl, Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd.
Strange Weirdos: Music From and Inspired by Knocked Up, which will be released May 22nd on Concord Records, is not just the soundtrack to writer/director Judd Apatow's follow-up to the box-office smash The 40-Year-Old Virgin, it is the 'best Loudon Wainwright album in 15 years,' according to his collaborator, singer/songwriter and producer Joe Henry.
The album, co-written and co-produced by Loudon and Joe Henry features new Wainwright songs like the title track, 'Strange Weirdos,' the elegiac 'Valley Morning,' the tongue-in-cheek look at a midlife crisis, 'Doin' the Math,' and his Hollywood homage, 'Grey in L.A.'
When writer/director Judd Apatow first heard Wainwright perform 'Grey in L.A.' live, he had the idea to ask him to work on the soundtrack for Knocked Up. 'Strange Weirdos' resulted from a suggestion Apatow made to write a song about two people who don't really belong together, but are trying to get along, mirroring the film's main characters.
'Strange Weirdos' - Music From & Inspired By The Film 'Knocked Up' in stores & online May 22nd, 2007.
