Miranda Lambert was on the first season of 'Nashville Star' where Buddy Jewell was crowned the winner. Miranda contributed her vocals to "Today I Started Loving You Again" on Buddy Jewell's debut Sony album and shortly thereafter, she became a Sony Recording artist herself. Miranda Lambert's new album, "Kerosene," will hits stores in March 2005. "Kerosene" features Lambert's debut single, "Me and Charlie Talking." The first time "Me and Charlie Talking" was played on the radio, I wasn't quite sure if I liked the single, but after hearing it again, I realized that it was a great single. The one single that I was really looking forward to on "Kerosene" was "Greyhound Bound For Nowhere." Miranda Lambert and her father, Rick Lambert wrote this amazing song and she introduced it to many fans on 'Nashville Star.' "Greyhound Bound For Nowhere" would be a great radio single and I believe it could be very successful. Miranda is not only a great singer, but she is an amazing songwriter, as well. Miranda wrote or co-wrote 11 of the 12 singles on this album. One of her competitors on 'Nashville Star' (Travis Howard) also contributed to this album. Lambert and Howard wrote "Bring Me Down" and "Mama, I'm Alright" and Howard wrote "I Can't Be Bothered." Two of Miranda's self-penned ballads - "There's A Wall" and "Love Your Memory" are purely brilliant. You can indentify Lambert's tangy Texas influenced vocals out of anyone. There is no comparing Miranda to any other artist, because she is so unique. So many great qualities call for a great album, and Miranda Lambert has delivered. Miranda mentions in her biography: "I want to be thought of as a true artist, not just as an 'entertainer.'" Well, with the release of 'Kerosene' - Miranda Lambert has achieved just that. Miranda Lambert : Live In Concert
Beatrice, Nebraska - July 20th 2005
Miranda Lambert visited Nebraska for the first time at the Gage County Fair in Beatrice on July 20th. Lambert performed one of the longest sets that I've heard in probably three years. Lambert's set list consisted of 20 songs including her debut single "Me and Charlie Talking" and her current single, "Bring Me Down." Either fans are stressed out this year or country music fans are just bored with the music. Miranda Lambert was working her butt off just to get his crowd to wake up. It had absolutely nothing to do with Lambert, because she gave a terrific performance, but for some reason people were just out of it.
After Lambert's performance of "Give Me One Reason" the crowd finally loosened up a bit and had some spark. I honestly believe that female artists have to work 10 times harder than males in the industry - speaking from a performance point of view. Why, you may wonder... because the typical "fan" for a show is a teenage girl between the ages of 13 and 18 that literally woo over the male artists. Although it's not fair, I think it rings pretty truthful. Look at the charts right now and you can still tell that men are dominating, as usual.
Despite a dull audience, Lambert was really an incredible performer. Lambert, not only has the vocals, but Lambert has this stage prescence not expected for her age.
Lambert is an all around artist, writing her own songs, "performing," and managing to flavor the audience with a wide variety of songs. Miranda Lambert's debut Sony Records release is still among the top releases from a female this year. Lambert's album contains 12 tracks and almost all of them could be potential hits in one way or another.
At her performance at the fair, Lambert's "Give Me One Reason" topped the night. Although this is a cover tune, Miranda Lambert nailed it. Lambert's performances of "I Wanna Die" and "There's A Wall" also stood out to be the lead songs from her set. "I Wanna Die" should be released as a single. "I Wanna Die" has great backgrounds and this song is actually better than I originally thought. Lambert is a stand out performer and it only takes minutes into her live shows to recognize the amount of talent that she showcases. - Janelle Landauer
Featuring George Strait, Tracy Lawrence, and Miranda Lambert
Anyone who loves country music wants to go "In The Round" with George Strait. Add Tracy Lawrence to that lineup and top it off with a rockin' Texas newcomer (Miranda Lambert) and you're sure to experience the show of your lifetime. Country music newcomer Miranda Lambert started the night off at 7:30 with "New Strings" from her Kerosene album. Miranda Lambert had a half hour set which included her debut single "Me And Charlie Talkin'" and her current single, "Kerosene." Lambert was planning on singing "Bring Me Down" - her second single released from her album - and she ever introduced it but a little miscommunication with the band led to her singing "There's A Wall" instead. Things happen and honestly, "There's A wall" was a great addition to her set list even if it wasn't initially planned. Lambert received a great response from the fans and I can't even imagine how much this added exposure is helping with her career. "I Wanna Die" is ALWAYS a standout at a Lambert show and this performance wasn't any different. Lambert is a true performer all around. She's one heck of a songwriter and a standout vocalist. The more I hear her album "Kerosene," the more I realize that Lambert is truly one of the best newcomers around. Lambert's performance was memorable and energy filled. - Janelle Landauer
